Contemporary Art Academy is an online educational initiative co-founded by artist curator Zavier Ellis (CHARLIE SMITH LONDON, THE FUTURE CAN WAIT, PROJECT PAPYROPHILIA, Young Gods, Ukraine Support Pledge) and artist and former Elephant Academy manager Mathew Gibson (Griffin Art Prize, Elephant Lab residency programme).
Our vision is to offer an affordable online educational forum across all levels that is defined by three main characteristics: personal practice; critical context; and professional practice. Contemporary Art Academy employs leading practitioners in their field with extensive professional and teaching experience. We establish peer groups of mutually encouraging fellow artists and we enhance practical and critical development.
We are currently offering courses equivalent to postgraduate level for practising artists wanting to interrogate and develop their practice. Each of the three courses has a different focus designed to be taken stand alone or in sequence. Our courses are delivered online through presentations, one-to-one crits, group crits, tutorials and seminars with leading art world professionals and fellow artists.

It’s always beneficial to practise speaking about what you’re doing, and the tutorial and crit gave me new things to think about in relation to my practice.Maddie Yuille
