Emma Bennett – Artist Talk
Emma Bennett is a Welsh artist, based in London. Her paintings depict traditional still-life motifs such as fruit and flowers in combination with interior scenes or landscapes often derived from contemporary film and photography. Imagery is frequently repeated and denotes a specific time and place that is drawn from memory. The intangible aspects of nature including fire and water are also pictured within these compositions that are intended to momentarily hold still the ephemeral.
Emma Bennett gained an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London in 1998, she graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 1996
Her paintings are regularly included in international galleries and museums, and she has work in prominent collections including Julian & Stephanie Grose, Adelaide; David Roberts, London; & Sammlung Reydan Weiss, Munich.
