Course Description
Create your own landscape paintings and develop practical oil painting techniques. Artist Joanna Whittle presents an online oil painting course suitable for all artists from beginners to professionals. Over six weekly sessions participants will complete two landscape oil paintings from topographical archive reference material provided by Joanna.
Joanna will offer step-by-step demonstrations on how to build landscape paintings using underpainting, direct and indirect painting techniques and layering and glazing. You will be introduced to oil painting procedures such as building tone and colour using traditional methods, suitable for application to a contemporary painting practice. The course will encourage an exploratory and intuitive use of oil paint which will give you the confidence to go on and develop these techniques in your own work.
