Contemporary Art Academy

Contemporary Art Academy is an online art educational initiative offering courses to practicing artists, co-founded by Zavier Ellis & Mathew Gibson.

Courses

Our courses bring practicing artists together in a mutually supportive environment. They encourage artists to make new work, interrogate the critical and historical context of their practice, and bring it to the public in a professional manner. Artists engage with leading practitioners and industry professionals and are part of a bespoke peer group.

Our courses can be taken stand alone or in sequence. They function as a top-up for practicing artists or as an alternative to postgraduate studies.

Personal Practice (PG-1)

Artists discuss their own practice and develop new work in response to presentations, seminars, crits and 1-2-1 tutorials with a Lead Artist tutor. Artists will be part of a mutually supportive peer group and the course is underpinned by Critical Context and Professional Practice seminars.

The course has greatly benefited me, as it has improved my capacity to discuss my own practice more clearly and I have met a wonderful group of people leading to a real sense of fellowship.
