Course Description
CRITICAL CONTEXT (PG2) enables artists to deepen the understanding of their practice and write an artist statement, edited by a professional art journalist. You will explore the art historical and contemporary context of your practice by participating in tutor led crits, group discussions, a 1-2-1 review, artist talk and professional practice seminar. Participants are encouraged to contribute to group discussions in crits and seminars. Underpinned by Artist and Professional Practice seminars, key outcomes from CRITICAL CONTEXT (PG2) include:
- 1-2-1 feedback from lead tutor
- Guidance on research methodology
- Group discussion with lead tutor and peer group
- Artwork feedback from established industry professionals and peer group
- Critical development in relation to historical and contemporary context
- Artist Talk from established artist
- Professional Practice seminar with established artworld professional
- Peer group chat forum
- Professionally edited artist statement
- Graduate access to PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE (PG3)
CRITICAL CONTEXT (PG2) is for:
- Artists who have completed PERSONAL PRACTICE (PG1)

Padlet
We use Padlet as our course interface. Once you register you will receive a link to your course Padlet. Here you will find all relevant course documents including TIMETABLE which contains the Zoom session links. You will also find your own column where you can upload images and documents. We use the Zoom platform for live sessions. You will find the link to each session posted in your course TIMETABLE on Padlet. There are two ways to access the live session:
